Samsung Galaxy S III: How to Turn GPS On/Off


Once you activate GPS feature on Samsung Galaxy S III, you can use maps to navigate around the city quickly. Take note that the GPS feature will comsume more battery power and it doesn’t always work properly in places of unclear sky view or areas where there isn’t much signal available, like inside the building or the tunnel, and even in area of high voltage or electromagnetic fields.

To turn on GPS, do one of these followings:

Option 1:

1. First, go back to your Home screen by hitting the Home key.

2. Then, touch and drag the Status bar down.

3. Here, select GPS option.

4. You should see green indicator light turns on to show GPS has been activated.

Option 2:

 

1. First, go back to your Home screen by hitting the Home key.

2. Then, tap on the Menu button.

3. Now, select Settings.

4. Then, tap to select Location services.

5. Here, simply place a check mark on Use GPS satellites check box to enable this feature.

- To turn off GPS, simply tap to clear the Use GPS satellites check box again.
