New iPad 3: How to Enable/Disable Smart Cover

Learn how you can enable or disable the Smart Cover on the new iPad 3.

Smart cover allow your tablet device to automatically lock or unlock when you open or close the cover. With the smart cover not only you get the protection for your screen, but you can save the hassle of pressing the button to turn on the device, the device will automatically wakeup ready for you to use.

To use this feature you need to purchase the smart cover compatible case, and you have to activate the function in the settings menu.

Here's how:

1. Press the Homeipad-home-key key.

2. Then tap on Settings ipad3-settings.

3. Select General.

4. Choose iPad Cover Lock/Unlock.

5. Finally move the switch to On or Off position to enable or disable.

If you have set a passcode, then when you open the cover you still need to put in the passcode to gain access to your device.
