How to Hard Reset Moto X

Any best Android device may sometimes has the fatal error that cannot be fixed, named as continuous lagging or unresponsive of the device, virus-infected or the device keeps on restarting itself and you cannot access its contents. Of course, your Moto X is no exception.

In those cases, a hard reset is always a last resort after all other troubleshooting steps have been done in order to help your Moto X get back to its default state when you first unboxed it.
However, always remember that once you’ve done a factory/ hard/ master reset on your Moto X, all the apps you installed and your data settings will be deleted completely, so don’t forget to back up any important data before performing a factory reset.

Now to the followings to hard reset the phone:

Option 1: Using Settings menu. This applies for cases when you still can access the Settings app.

1. First, access your Apps list.

2. Navigate to Settings app.

3. Now, scroll down and tap Back up & reset.

4. Next, choose Factory Data Reset.

5. Finally hit Reset Phone.

Note: In case you have customized your Moto X on Motomaker you may opt to remove your personalized content. So, provided that you want to remove your start up message or wallpaper, tick the Erase all personalized checkbox.

6. Your device will restart when the reset is complete.

Option 2: Using Hardware Keys. This applies for conditions when you cannot access the Settings Menu due to the phone being frozen.

1. Turn off the phone completely.

2. Long press on the VOLUME DOWN + POWER key for some seconds.

3. Release all keys when you see the Boot Options screen appears.

4. Use the VOLUME DOWN key to scroll to Recovery and VOLUME UP key to select.

5. Moto X will show the Motorola logo and then the Android in distress ( logo with Exclamation mark).

6. Long press on the VOLUME UP key, then quickly tap and release the POWER key.

7. The system recovery screen should appear with Text in blue.

8. Use the VOLUME DOWN key to scroll to Wipe data / factory reset and the POWER key to select.

9. Use the VOLUME DOWN key again to select YES - delete all user data and press the POWER key to confirm.

10. When you see reboot system now highlighted, press the POWER key to restart the device and complete the factory reset.

 
How to Hard Reset LG Optimus Exceed

One of the most annoying things of any Android device is the fact that you will need a hard reset to restore the phone to its default state once you have entered the wrong passcode exceed the allowed limit times. So if you have provide a wrong passcode too many times on LG Optimus Exceed, you will need to do a hard reset.

However, once you’ve done a factory/ hard/ master reset on your LG Optimus Exceed, all the apps you installed and your data settings will be deleted completely, so don’t forget to back up any important data regularly just in case your phone go through these types of malfunction and you will have the unexpected hard reset like this.

Below are step-by-step procedure on how to hard reset your LG Optimus Exceed. Don’t forget to fully charge the device to avoid any brick during processing.

Option 1: Using Settings menu. This applies for cases when you still can access the Settings app.

1. Access the Apps list.

2. Now, launch the Settings app.

3. Choose Backup and reset from the Personal section

4. Tap Factory Data Reset from the Personal Data section,

5. Next, select Reset phone.

6. Choose Erase everything.

Option 2: Using Hardware Keys. This applies for conditions when you cannot access the Settings Menu due to the tablet being frozen.

1. First, switch off the LG Optimus Exceed.

2. Next, press and hold together the POWER key + VOLUME DOWN key.

4. Still continue to press the POWER key twice to confirm.

5. Let your phone continue the process and startup later just like first time when you unbox it.

 
How to Hard Reset Samsung Galaxy Camera

You can hard reset your Samsung Galaxy Camera in two different ways, via Settings Menu when you can still access configuration and using Hardware Keys when the device is completely switched off. When you see the device become unresponsive, lagging or frozen, when the Camera can’t be used, or whatever issues you have seen many time and cannot fix by just a soft reset, then definitely a Hard reset is a must.
Here’s how you can hard reset your Samsung Galaxy Camera

Option 1: Using Settings menu

1. Go back to Samsung Galaxy Camera’s Home screen.

2. Tap Apps at the lower-right.

3. Tap Settings from the Apps tab.

4. Locate Personal section.

5. Choose Back up and reset.

6. Navigate to the Personal data section.

7. Hit Factory data reset.

8. Tap Factory data reset again to confirm.

9. Key in the current passcode/ pattern if required.

10. Tap Reset device.

Now wait for the device to reset itself.

 

Option 2 Using Hardware keys

1. Disable Fast Power-on mode.

2. Turn off the device.

3. Long press on the POWER key and slide the Zoom to the + position until the Samsung logo shows up on screen.

4. Release the POWER key and the Zoom slider.

5. You will see the Android system recovery screen.

6. Use the Zoom left / right to select wipe data/factory reset and the POWER key to confirm.

7. Choose Yes -- delete all user data.

8. Wait some minutes for the hard reset to finish.

9. Tap reboot system now.

10. Wait for the device to finish reboot itself.

 
How to Hard Reset HTC One SV

In case you have encountered so many issues on your HTC One SV, then thinking of a Hard/ Master/ Factory Reset on the phone is the best solution to erase all those unresponsiveness, freezing or lagging from the device and restore it to the default state when you first had it from the store.

However, always noted in mind that once you’ve done a factory/ hard/ master reset on your HTC One SV, all the apps you installed and your data settings will be deleted completely, so remember to back up any important data before performing a factory reset.

Here’s the guide for a hard reset using Settings Menu on HTC One SV:

1. First, always charge the battery full before a hard reset.

2. Power on HTC One SV

3. Again, remember to backup all important data on the phone first.

4. Next, go to Settings.

5. Choose Backup & reset.

6. Tap Reset phone.

7. After that, hit Erase all data.

But in case you cannot access the settings Menu because your phone screen won’t turn on, do the followings to hard reset your HTC one SV using the hardware keys

1. Fully charge the HTC One SV.

2. Press together POWER key + VOLUME DOWN key for some seconds until a white menu shows up.

4. Select it by pressing the POWER key.

5. The phone will continue the rest steps for you. Just wait it for some minutes until it finishes.

 
How to Hard Reset Motorola Droid Ultra

So this is the first time you used an Android phone and you set up a passcode on the phone for extra security on your personal content. But the problem is that you have totally forgotten the passcode and there is no other way to access the screen anymore. In this case, a hard reset may help.

Although, the case we recommended is for first time users or ones do not have much data on the phone. However, in cases you want to hard reset Droid Ultra due to malfunction/ continuous lagging or unresponsiveness, then don’t forget to back up any important data before performing a hard reset because doing a factory/ hard/ master reset on your phone will delete all the apps you installed and your data settings completely.

Here’s how to:

Option 1: Using Settings menu. This applies for cases when you still can access the Settings app.

1. Return to Droid Ultra’s Home screen.

2. Tap the Apps icon at the bottom.

3. Launch the Settings app.

4. Next, tap Backup & reset.

5. Then choose Factory data reset.

6. Hit Reset phone.

7. If  prompted, you need to provide the current passcode or draw your unlock pattern.

8. Then, hit Erase everything.

9.  Just wait for some minutes for the factory data reset and reboot processes to finish.

 

Option 2: Using Hardware Key. This applies for conditions when you cannot access the Settings Menu due to the tablet being frozen.

1. First, you need to check if the battery is empty or not. Even though you still cannot power on the phone, try to plug it in the charger and the wait until you see it is fully charged.

2. Also, if possible, try to backup all important data. But in case the phone is totally blackout, then we suggest you should always back up your important data regularly for the worst scenario like this.

3. Press the POWER key and hit Power off to switch off the phone.

4. Long press on the VOLUME DOWN key then press the POWER key at the same time.

5. After 3-5 seconds, release both buttons.

6. You should then see the Boot Mode Selection Menu screen.

7. Hit the VOLUME DOWN/ UP key to navigate to and use POWER key to select Recovery.

8. You will see the Android triage screen.  This is an Android figure with an exclamation point.

9. Now, long press on the VOLUME UP key for 10-15 seconds. Also while holding the VOLUME UP key press and release the POWER key.

10. Now, release all keys.

11. You will then see the Android system recovery screen with all text in Blue.

12. Use the VOLUME UP/ DOWN key to navigate to and the POWER key to select wipe data/factory reset.

13. Use the VOLUME DOWN key again to navigate to and the POWER key to Yes - delete all user data.

14. After the Formatting is complete, hit the POWER key to confirm a Reboot.

The phone will then finish the process for you. Just wait for some second before it restarts all new and clean as when you first unboxed it.

 
How to Hard Reset Motorola Droid Maxx

When you need to resell your Motorola Droid Maxx to another user, of course you will not want to reveal any of your personal information/ your email account or any settings on the device to them. So instead of manually do all the settings one by one, all you have to do is just a hard reset to wipe all those data away.

Noted that, because doing a factory/ hard/ master reset on your phone will delete all the apps you installed and your data settings completely, so remember to back up any important data before performing a hard reset just in case you still need to use it later.

Option 1: Using Settings menu. This applies for cases when you still can access the Settings app.

1. Go back to one of the Droid Maxx’s Home screens.

2. Tap the Apps icon at the bottom.

3. Now, open the Settings app from the Apps tab.

4. Next, tap Backup & reset.

5. Then choose Factory data reset.

6. Hit Reset phone.

7. You may be prompted to provide the current passcode or draw your unlock pattern. Do as the screen tells.

8. After that, press on Erase everything.

9. Now, just wait for some minutes for the factory data reset and reboot processes to finish.

Option 2: Using Hardware Key. This applies for conditions when you cannot access the Settings Menu due to the tablet being frozen.
